Pause for Thought* – Eine Denkpause

Dear friends,

once more I'm taking part in a Makelight course by Emily Quinton. This one is : “Pause for Thought”. Comes in pretty much at the right time, as I do have the feeling I'm getting nowhere and I haven't achieved anything in 2018 so far.

Episode one already showed me, that I'm absolutely wrong. True there are a few things that didn't work out as well as I hoped they would (need I mention pattern-writing..?), but others did. Isn't it amazing how much we concentrate on all what's negative in our lives? Why cannot we see things more positively? I'm not talking about taking things lightly, I'm talking about looking on the bright side of life instead!

Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party #5

Welcome to the Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party!

It's the 1st Saturday of May!
It's time for the fifth Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party!

(Hier geht's zu den deutschsprachigen Erläuterungen...)

This Link-Up Party is all about granny squares. You are most welcome to link-up any projects you've made with either the traditional granny square, the solid one or any granny square you love or even have created yourself.

The Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party will start on the first Saturday of each month at 8 a.m. (CET) and will run 20 days. You'll be able to share your finished objects as well as your WIPs with other crocheters from all around the world. The five most popular links will be featured and shared on my social media sites.

You haven't got to be a “big name” or a designer to join the Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party. All you need is a granny square related crochet (or knit) post. By joining the Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party you will be able to grow your blog as well as gather loads of inspiration.

Before we enter the next party, let's start with sharing the top five link ups of the April Link-Up Party (#4):

  2. Mein Häkelmantel from Elli Hummel:
  3. Lucky Start Potholder from LiliaCraftParty:
  4. Gypsy CAL from Dino-Bären:

  • Link up your own work. Links infringing on copyright and/or trademark as well as sponsored posts will be deleted.

  • I'd highly appreciate if you'd follow me on at least one of my social media links (see below) – if only to know if you got featured or when the next Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party is due.

By adding your link to the Granny-Spiration Link-Up Party, you give me permission to share your post and pictures on my social media sites, in features, in round-ups and on my blog (always with a link back to you for proper credit).

Sunshiny Day Pullover

Dear friends,

I'm not making much progress, not getting much done, when it comes to crochet lately. Don't ask me why, I cannot tell. True I'm working out a way of making pretty project bags with cross stitch quotes on them, true I'm taking part in #MarchMeetTheMaker on Instagram, but... I simply do not know.

Make Light - Erleuchtung

Dear friends,

I've been taking part in the social media spring clean, a free course by Emily Quinton of Makelight. If you frequent Instagram regularly you'll have noticed those Year of Colour pictures popping up at the end of 2017. I had one made too and not recognizing myself in that colour palette I visited Emily's site - and that's been one of the best impulses I had these last weeks.

The spring clean course didn't just alter my perspective on social media, which I found very demanding as well as overwhelming at times, it also gave me a little nudge on how to manage things as well as a boost on getting on.

Bright Retro Granny Square Coat/Jacke

Dear friends,

it's been quite an adventure from the picture which I had in my head (and which I translated into this drawing)

to the finished object.

It took me from the 18th of December 2017 till the 31st of January 2018 to finish the coat. True I haven't been working on it full time – I did take a few breaks (just think of stitch markers, Valentine's Shawl and project bags)...

Granny-Spiration Challenge 2017 musings / Gedankengänge

August

Dear friends,

April
thank you sooo much for all your kind words and your support and your hints. I didn't answer any of your comments, but please, do not think me rude. I really appreciate your comments, I really, really do - I cannot even tell you how much! But I felt like I'd be repeating the same phrase over and over again and I thought that even more rude than just saying a huge 💞THANK YOU🎆 this way round.

Disappointed - Enttäuscht

Dear friends,

late Wednesday afternoon I was absolutely furious. I'm not anymore. Now I'm but sad and disappointed.
What has happened?
Wednesday afternoon I was scrolling down my facebook feed when a picture of the Happy Granny Square Bag caught my attention. One of the sites I follow shared a link to the post of another site. As this link showed a picture of my bag I followed the link and ended on a site describing the Happy Granny Square Bag.

So far, so good.

Henrietta Square – Henrietta Quadrat

Pattern/Tutorial release!

Dear friends,

I simply couldn't wait any longer: I HAD to release the Henrietta Square Pattern/Tutorial.
You've last heard of the Henrietta Square on the 23rd of September (here) when I announced who the winners of the giveaway were.
All pattern testers were eager to help me and they sure had some suggestions or remarks which I heeded and now both versions (English and German) are completed.
The pattern testers were so kind to send me some pictures of their versions of the Henrietta Square, do have a look:

Ulrike, who I know privately, was the first one to give Henrietta a try:

Alexandra (EyeLoveKnots), whom you all know from the Granny-Spiration Challenge helped me out too:

Next came Nata, Lysann and Annette:
Nata

Lysann

Annette

Isn't it amazing how much the Henrietta Square changes using different colour-schemes?

BTW: Nata as well as Lysann each wrote a post about the Henrietta Square!

Surely, you do remember that the „Henrietta Square“ is the first pattern which isn't free. It's now available in my Etsy-Shop in English(UK-Terms) as well as in German.
However!
Especially for you – my dear friends and followers – there is a pattern release sale of 20% - just enter following code: HENRIETTA
This sale starts today and will end on the 31st of October!

Phew! That's it: No turning back! The pattern is released. Guess I'll make myself a cup of tea and grab my hook to calm my nerves!... I'll keep in touch!

P.S.: I'll show you Jane's pictures as soon as I've got them!

Liebe Freunde,

Yarnbombing (Part II / Teil 2)

Dear friends,

I woke up this morning facing foggy, dull and dreary weather, rain, a packed grey sky and 11°C. If today were the end of September, early October even, I'd sigh and say: „Well then, autumn has come...“ BUT!!! It is the 12th of August! We're supposed to be in the middle of summer still! And we are living in Germany – the North Pole isn't anywhere near! ARGH!!!!

Lucky me I made some pictures of the garden while the weather was still nicer...

The rain pipe is now completely covered and the second one too

Couldn't stop me from making a "few" more flowers

Moneypenny likes the mandala/dreamcatcher too

The ladybirds inhabit the lamppost

And here are the latest additions

Would be great if the weather was fine enough to actually enjoy the garden... I'll keep in touch!

Liebe Freunde,
